I know who I am voting for…

By Lara | September 23, 2008

VOTE McCain and Palin 2008

Well, I took awhile to decide…my decision was never McCain or Obama. It was neither or none. LOL. However, my husband is VERY political and VERY much into Biblical issues and ramifications of our responsibility as Christians to MAKE A Difference.

So, he encouraged me to investigate and watch them both. I have been. The turning point for me was the interview they both did at Warren’s church. My teenager KNEW who she would vote for if she was 18 before McCain ever even walked on stage! All she got from Obama was fluff (in her words) and stuttering “non” answers. LOL. She is so cute.

I have to say, When I watched him and some of his ridiculous responses, I KNEW he was NOT whom I would be voting for. I knew before that because the man scares me to death…I mean there is much off and it’s a spiritual thing I am sure…

However, there was still no clear vote for me…UNTIL…McCain spoke.

How my decision was made…

The main is straight forward. ANSWERS the actual question. Has values that line up with the Word of God…and YES, people, if you are a Christian, it is about WAY MORE than taxes and oil drilling. We WILL stand before God for every decision we make…including who we choose to put in political office. We need to read the Word of God and base our decision ON THE WORD. We need to make sure we ARE looking at the WHOLE picture.

It is not about a black man becoming president. It is not about a woman becoming president. It is about seeking God’s face and putting a president in office who will stand on God’s Word and make no excuses and be willing to NOT be “politically correct” in what he does.

So…after much prayer…listening to the MEN and not the ads and media. More prayer. I am voting for the man who I believe loves this country and has proven it throughout his life and service to this country. I am voting for the experienced and patriotic, John McCain and his Vice president choice, Palin. Whom I think is a strong woman who will do well in office. However, I chose McCain before she ever stepped into the picture. She just makes my choice all the more peaceful.

Let me leave you with this…VOTE! Yes, NOT voting IS voting. And it IS voting for someone…and more likely the one that scares you the most is who your “no vote” will help. I beg you to seek God and pray and leave out political parties, race and gender. Instead, read the Word and line up their values against it. And…VOTE!

I really don’t know how you can be a Bible believing Christian and vote for someone who says its ok to murder helpless babies. My decision was very clear from the beginning. Of course my first choice didn’t make it but oh well. God knows best, right?

This is a great post! Thank you for sharing your thought process and reminding all of us to vote with prayer and serious consideration - but also to just VOTE!!! I’m voting for McCain, too.
