Yesterday was quite a day!

If you follow me on Twitter, facebook, or are a member of Moms of Faith, then you know we have been dealing with sickness…again over the past month. My oldest is on a missions trip to Guatemala and comes home tonight…YEAH!!!!

LOL…OK…Well, I am finally at about 80% health wise. My little one, however, needed to go to the doctor yesterday…and that is where my story begins…

About an hour before we had to leave, I was making something to eat. I had turned the burner off and moved on to the next task. Without thinking, I accidentally put the butter lid on hot burner then picked it up and the HOT melted plastic got stuck under my fingernail…I reacted with OUCH and flinging the lid in the air so it could now land on my other hand’s thumb! DOUBLE ouch! Between the heat and trying to get the plastic off, I gave myself a couple nasty burns.

My twitter friends were filled with awesome tips and I applied a few of them.

Could not moan and groan about it though, time to take little one to the pediatrician!

Off I go…painfully getting her in the car seat and dealing with BOTH hands with burns.

We arrive at the doctor to find a gloriously (she said sarcastically) looooong wait. When we finally got back with the doctor, we find out that my poor little honey has a double ear infection! She never even complained about her ears! She is like super girl. Her doctor and I joke about it. She could be dying with sickness and still run around. I swear, she will give birth naturally when baby time comes…ROFLMBO!

OK, back to my wonderful day….(again, she said sarcastically)…

We finish up with the doctor and off to the pharmacy we go. Again a gloriously looong wait. My fingers hurt, my little one is whining, we are both hungry and of course it is pouring rain. Fabulous.

After a long wait, the pharmacist calls me back to inform me that the doctor did not put how much med mg or how much dosage. AHHHHHHHHHHH! Now, she has to call and get info. More waiting…and waiting. Doctor’s office is not calling back. I had to call them and kick their butts in gear. They FINALLY call the pharm. Give the info and now I need to wait for her to make it.

As you can imagine, I am with a child who is NOT well and really NOT happy about waiting. LOL. What fun!

The pharmacist finishes up and it’s time to pay for the prescriptions…she tells me the bill ($96.20) and I almost faint. HUH? I say…how is that? We NEVER pay that much. The antibiotic was SIXTY bucks! We never pay more than $20 with our insurance. And the bottle was HUGE. The dosage was insane as well…I told the pharmacist something was not right. She said she verified with doctor…I said hmmm…OK…reluctantly paid and asked her to please call the doctor again. I am not giving my daughter this without another confirmation…gave her my number and left.

After a phone call from doctor,  am told its the right dosage…I say…REALLLY??? For a 37 pound child?? LIGHT BULB goes on with beloved doctor (not her normal do either…I forgot to mention we got stuck with a nurse practitioner) head….37 pounds?? Let me call you back.

GRRRRR

She prescribed my little one with meds for a 76 pound child!!!!!!!!

Now it’s 7:30pm…still trying to get dinner on table during all this…now I must go BACK to pharmacy, get new meds and credit…

Whew…

Finally ate dinner at 8:30.
