I am getting to the point where I really just want to have no commercial television. Back when television was new, they would advertise the product during the show. I’m not sure that would be good in today’s sex crazed more stuff culture, but I am really tired of the current state of commercials.
Especially when I am watching television with my 5 year old.
You would think that there should be some sort of “safety” when the programming that is being watched is GEARED TOWARDS FIVE YEAR OLDS…well…you would be wrong. Very wrong. I have seen sexually explicit commercials for future programs on the channel, scary commercials advertising Halloween events, orgasmic hair commercials and the list goes on.
What’s a conservative Mom to do? Or any Mom for that matter. Honestly, being “conservative” does not make me a better Mother than an atheist. We all want the same thing for our kids…if we are even remotely decent Mothers…we all want our kids to be kids. Safe from what we feel, as Moms, is not good for them Right?
So, what do we do?
Send letters?
Boycott?
Picket?
Hmmm…
Pay unbelievable amounts of money for TiVo?
Well…in this case…yes.
We use a type of TiVo in our neck of the woods and let me tell you Moms of the world…it is a life saver. I can tape great shows and cartoons that are kid friendly and NOT deal with the commercials. We simply fast forward them! Unfortunately, this cannot be good for the companies that have decent commercials and are just trying to get the word out about their product or service.
Oh, well, sadly, that’s there problem…not mine.
My kids eye and ear safety is MY priority….got that Herbal Essence???
What are your thoughts on the matter at hand?

I am SO excited! I have been working with my 5 year old for a long time and was discouraged for a while…You see, my oldest, who is now 16 was reading at 3. LOL. SO, I was spoiled. I thought, the next one should read as quick…I was wrong. She was not ready 3. She is my princess and was waaaaaaaaaaaaay more into shoes at 3. Seriously. LOL.
Anyway, I had a personal goal that I would do everything in my power to get her reading in Kindergarten…I homeschool, so I have ALL the time in the world with her….well…it’s paid off! She has been doing better and better each day and today she read her first mini book…
This is what she read:
Tip is a pup.
Tip sat up.
Tip got a tag.
Tip dug in the mud.
Bad Tip.
Isn’t that the AWESOMEST!!!!
I am so excited…She is too! Now, she wants to show off for Daddy too! LOL!
Anyway, I had to share!

Well, after a MUCH needed hiatus from most of my Online activity and blogging here, I am ready to jump back in! I had a very rough few months at the end of 2009 and spent some time feeling sorry for myself and wallowing in blah! For those who really know me…not really like me at all. BUT, I am OK…and I guess everyone needs a pity party at some point in life. LOL!
Now that I am in a new year…and new decade, I am going to keep a positive perspective and attempt to move past the hurts and disappointments of 2009.
I have a fresh plan and will be focusing my days more on Homeschooling and life as a wife and Mom. In the afternoons, I will work and later in the evenings as well. I wound up Online WAAAAAAY too much and not only got burnt out…I neglected my family and home! No more. Since my break, I got my whole house clean and have been giving my attentions to what really matters…my Lord, my husband and my fabulous girls.
I am looking forward to a new season of business, blogging and Moms of Faith! I have even started a new site for Christian Moms in Business. It has a directory for them to feature their business and a learning center that will be filled with valuable info. I have a few great women who will be helping me with content so I do not get overwhelmed. It really is a GREAT resource for Moms who are in business. I also made it VERY cheap to get listed.
I am also still trying to sell several content sites I have. I need to rework what I am doing Online and focus on ventures that are less time consuming! SO, if you are shopping for a great website, check these few I have for sale out.
Anyway, I am glad to be back and have plans for what to post here and will be sharing more if me, homeschooling and my life as a Christian Work at Home Mom and wife!!
Let me leave you with an awesome verse I have been chewing on for a bit…
I eagerly expect and hope that I will in no way be ashamed, but will have sufficient courage so that now as always Christ will be exalted in my body, whether by life or by death. For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain. - Philippians 1:20-21
OK,well, that’s all for this post! Thank you for all your prayers and encouragement during my dry season! (((hugs)))

1. We need money.
2. My Little Princess told me I was beautiful and it made me smile.
3. If you want peace, you need to pursue it.
4.I am tired because I have been over working.
5. Massachusetts has a proposed 5% sales tax on elective cosmetic surgery; I think it is a better idea than socialized health care.
6. Family makes for a happy holiday.
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I’m looking forward to pricing junk, tomorrow my plans include garage sale (why I’m pricing junk) and Sunday, I want to put my tree up and be JUNK FREE!

I was looking forward to seeing the movie, Earth. I really love nature and heard that it was good. I mean it wasn’t bad…it just wasn’t as good as I was expecting. It was really sort of a drag….very slow and very clearly “agenda” oriented.
Don’t get me wrong, I think we should take care of the earth and be better with trash and toxins that go into the atmosphere and all that green stuff. However, who do we think we are as man to believe we have the power to destroy the plant. I think not. At least not when I read my Bible. The earth will end when and how GOD plans it too…not because of carbon footprints….starving polar bears…or over sized landfills.
Let’s get some perspective people.
No man. NO plan. NO garbage. Nothing will change the fate of the world. The only thing we CAN change is the fate of our souls!
OK, rant off. ROFL.
Back to the movie. It was “OK.” I thought the narration was a bit slow and some scenes seemed to drag on and the slow-mo parts were waaaaaaaaaaaay to long and sloooooooooow. I was actually getting sleepy. It really was a snoozer of a film.
That being said, the beauty of God’s creation REALLY is spectacular. The only saving grace for the film is the fabulous cinematography. What a beautiful planet God created for us to enjoy. He is a true artist.
Thumbs down to the plot line of Earth…
Hats off to Daddy God’s design work!

2. What I look forward to most on Thanksgiving is sharing what we are all thankful for that year. I especially love what the kids say!
3. My Christmas/holiday shopping is non existent. NO money.
4. Thoughts of Jesus fill my head.
5. I wish I could wear a bikini.
6. Bagpipes are cool.
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I’m looking forward to my special time with oldest daughter, tomorrow my plans include cleaning and Sunday, I want to not clean! Unfortunately, I will be! LOL!

last few posts…I was looking over my blog today and realized I have been areal blah lately. LOL! I guess I just needed to vent some stuff and it was actually quite therapeutic for me.
However, instead of whining and focusing on all the things I missed in life, I am going to try and make the best of what I have. I am determined to focus on myself more instead of trying to please the world. I have been doing really well with my weightloss. I am pushing to get the last 40 pounds off and then move on to my next weigh goal.
I am also cleaning the entire house and preparing for a garage sale. This is the PERFECT time of year for on in Florida. Summer is like a baking session. So, chose fall.
I am also going to start looking for an literary agent. I have written a children’s book and several other adult devotional type books. They are just sitting there waiting for me to do something. Well, now, I AM!
